So I've never given credit much thought. I've never needed too. I
had parents that were generous enough to pay for my education, and
I've always worked in an industry that pays well. I've slowly learned
quite a bit about investing and economics but somehow credit never
came up.
Having worked at
http://www.credit.com for the last
year, I have learned a whole lot about it and credit turns out to be
more interesting than I thought it had any right to be. Our site has
a lot of useful
information for
consumers ranging from detailed articles to a blog on credit
issues to "Ask John" where you can get your credit issues answered by
a real life credit expert. And of course you can apply through the
site to get just about any kind of credit you might want, from
credit cards, to
cash
advances to
mortgages, to
personal loans, to
auto loans. All of
which have useful information about when you should and shouldn't get
into those specific loans. We are going to soon come out with a
credit score and credit analysis tool which will be great for consumers as it will show their FICO credit score and explain in easy to understand language what goes into the score and how well one is doing in each of the areas, while offering tips and suggestions on how to do better. Imagine that, credit scores de-mystified!
