To go with the Samsung LN-24095D TV I bought, I recent the Toshiba HD-A2 second generation HD-DVD player. I was going to get the XBOX player and hook it up to my Mac, but with the delay of OS X Leopard too October I didn't want to wait ages to start enjoying high definition dvds on my tv.
I bought if from amazon for around 300 dollars, though as of right now the Toshiba HD-A2 is about $271 which is a pretty good price. Only $71 dollars more than the xbox drive and you have a remote and nice easy integration into your home theater system.
[2007-05-28 8:00pm] So far it has been mostly good, but having just got the BBC Planet Earth DVD's I encountered error '408bc504' while playing the third disc which is super annoying. There is a firmware patch (1.6) which I am downloading, and will hopefully solve the issue.
